College to help Sri Lanka rebuild

WELLAND, ONT.

Niagara College will send a team to Sri Lanka to help rebuild after the devastating Asian tsunami.

The college plans to send recent graduates this spring to two areas hit by the disaster.

“While the immediate need is for food and clothing and cleanup, the problems will not be solved overnight,” said Darrell Neufeld, manager of corporate communications. “We want to help in the long term.”

The project will in- volve graduates from construction engineering technology, tourism and tourism development, and tourism development plans and ecosystem restoration programs.
