Construction continues for the Children’s Aid Society Child Welfare Centre on Isabella Street in Toronto. The seven-storey, design-build project was started last May by Bird Design Build Inc. and completion has been scheduled for November. There will also be three levels of underground parking. The project was designed by Young + Wright Architects Inc. Consultants are: Banerjee & Associates Ltd. (structural); Takano Engineering Ltd. (mechanical); Nova Trend (electrical); and Ferris & Associates (landscape). Subtrades include: Anpro Excavating & Grading; Rumble Foundations (Ontario) Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Alliance Forming Ltd. (formwork); Harris Rebar (rebar supply); Burnco (structural steel); Dufferin Concrete (concrete supply); Fox Masonry Ltd.; Malfar Mechanical Ltd.; Zerem Electrical Services Ltd.; Westmount Storefront Systems Ltd. (windows); Semple-Gooder Roofing Ltd.; and Otis Canada Inc. (elevators).
