Stantec earnings climb by 51%

EDMONTON

Engineering company Stantec Inc. has capped its 51st straight year of profitability with a fourth-quarter earnings increase of 51 per cent, to $9.6 million.

Net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2004, amounted to 52 cents a share and compared with $6.3 million or 35 cents per share a year earlier, the Edmonton-based company reports.

Fourth-quarter revenue increased 13.8 per cent to $127 million. For the full year, earnings increased 20.4 per cent to $30.2 million from $25.1 million while revenue rose 13.2 per cent.

Stantec provides professional design and consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture, surveying and project management.
