Culturally multi-purpose

Construction is moving along on the new theatre and multi-purpose room for the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto in Scarborough, Ont. Construction manager Vanbots Construction Corp. began the three storey project last December and it should be completed next April.

The Project Team

The theatre and multi purpose room was designed by Louis K.C. Cheung Architect Inc. and is sponsored by the Chinese community, local businesses and Government. Consultants are Yolles (structural); and Ellard-Willson Engineering Ltd. (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Ragno Excavating; Drillco Foundation Co. Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Hardrock Forming Co.; Gilbert Steel Ltd. (rebar supply); St. Marys CBM (concrete supply); Bernel Masonry; Bering Mechanical Ltd.; Interborough Electric Co.; General Sprinklers Inc. (fire protection); and Schindler Elevators Corp.
