Nova Scotian Lloyd MacLean has been lauded for his contributions to the association and the industry – dedication which has earned him a Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) life membership award.

MacLean, a past chair of the national association and long-time member of the board and executive committee of MCAC, also chaired his provincial mechanical contractors’ organization for nine years.

A licensed plumber, MacLean has worked in the mechanical trade for some 43 years. He was a long-time supervisor for a mechanical contracting firm and co-owner of a plumbing and heating company.

He received his plaque from MCAC chair Tom Vincent at an awards breakfast during the association’s 64th annual national convention, held in Charlottetown on the weekend.

It was one of a number of awards presented by the MCAC, a federation of provincial associations.

Also recognized was Moncton’s Bill Dixon, manager of MCA New Brunswick.

He received the Gary Greig Memorial Award for his contributions in ensuring the success of the annual national conference.

Dixon, who has been attending MCAC conferences for more than 15 years, was the golf coordinator at the Charlottetown event.

“You will see him at meetings, at the social events, and in the seminars,” Vincent said.

“He helps the national conference out ever year without complaint.”

During the breakfast, the MCAC also recognized firms and affiliated associations which have celebrated 100 years of continuous operation.

Plaques were presented to the following companies:

Moose Jaw Heating Plumbing Inc. of Moose Jaw

Randall Plumbing and Heating Ltd. of Winnipeg

Adam Clark/Lockerbie & Hole of Edmonton and Brantford

Mechanical Contractors Association of British Columbia

Mechanical Contractors Association of Alberta
