Digging the Square

Excavating work continues for the Liberty Square office and retail project in Markham, Ont. Darcon Inc. is construction manager for the project that includes one five-storey and one 12-storey building. The Liberty Square office and retail project was designed by Page & Steele Inc. and the owner is Liberty Development Corp. Consultants are: NCK Engineering Ltd. (structural); and Able Engineering (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Rumble Foundations (excavation); Verdi/Alliance/Premform (formwork); C T Reinforcing Steel (rebar supply); Dufferin Concrete; B. Gottardo (masonry); Primo Mechanical; Speedy Electric; Global Architectural Metals (curtainwall); and Kone Elevators/ThyssenKrupp Elevator Ltd.
