Worker killed on N.B. construction site

DIEPPE, N.B.

A worker is dead and an investigation is underway after a large wall panel being installed at a construction site fell and crushed a man.

Kirk Gould, 28, of Saint John, N.B., a carpenter with Celtic Construction, was killed instantly.

RCMP said the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. while crews were erecting a building.

The wall panel was made of concrete.

The coroner’s office and Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation investigators were also on the scene.
