Five firms to bid on Sudbury hospital

SUDBURY

Residents of Sudbury took another step toward improved healthcare with the release of the request for proposals (RFP) to build and finance the redevelopment of Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital.

The five pre-qualified companies that have been asked to respond to the RFP to build and finance the sites’ redevelopment are: Bondfield Construction Company Ltd., SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., EllisDon Corp., Vanbots Construction Corp., and PCL Constructors Inc.

The companies were short-listed following a request for qualifications (RFQ) issued on March 21, 2006.

The project encompasses phase two of the Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital’s consolidation of acute and rehabilitation services from three sites to one. Once a winning proponent is selected, construction is scheduled to begin in early 2007.
