$27 million for Hwy 6 improvments planned

HAMILTON

More than $27 million will be spent on road construction for safety improvements on Highway 6 in Hamilton.

Construction will include closing intersections at Northcliffe Avenue, Plains Road, Old Guelph Road and York Road and replacing these entrances with an interchange at York Road to allow for controlled highway access.

Construction will also begin on a truck climbing lane on steep inclines to allow for less traffic congestion.

Investment will also see construction of a pedestrian tunnel to allow people to hike on the Bruce Trail.
