Concrete pouring continues for the new Marriott Residence Inn at 255 Wellington St. in Toronto. Construction manager Vanbots Construction Corp. began the 21-storey, 256-suite inn last August and completion has been scheduled for next March. The work also includes three levels of underground parking and ground floor retail. The project was designed by Page Steele Inc. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); and M.V. Shore Associates (1993) Ltd. (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Ciro Excavating & Grading Ltd.; Rumble Foundations (Ontario) Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Hardrock Forming Co. (formwork); C & T Reinforcing Steel Co. (1987) Ltd. (rebar supply); Dufferin Concrete; Limen Masonry; Primo Mechanical; OZZ Corp. (electrical); Allan Window Systems Ltd.; Bothwell-Accurate Co. Ltd. (waterproofing); and Otis Canada (elevators).
