Mimico Waterfront Linear Park starts

TORONTO

Representatives from the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corp. (TWRC), the three levels of government, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and the local community will take part in an event this morning to officially mark the start of construction on Mimico Waterfront Linear Park.

Located on the shores of Lake Ontario and bordered by Humber Bay Park in the east and Norris Crescent Parkette in the west, the project includes improved access to the waterfront, the extension of a waterfront trail, cobble beaches and additional natural habitats.

Participants include Treasury Board president John Baird, Ontario environment minister Laurel Broten, Toronto mayor David Miller, TWRC acting chair Peter Smith and Brian Denney, TRCA chief administrative officer.
