Roofer jailed for defrauding clients

MILTON, Ont.

A Burlington, Ont., roofing contractor who defrauded potential clients is headed to prison for 29 months.

Randy Barton, 42, pleaded guilty to numerous fraud related charges when he appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Milton.

Barton, who operated a company named Randy’s Roofing, obtained deposit money from potential clients in Oakville, Ont.

He kept the money but failed to complete the roofing work as promised.
