A Super Sleep

Work continues on the new 40,000-square-foot Super 8 Hotel in Barrie, Ont. Design build contractor Penalta Group Ltd. began the four-storey, 82-suite hotel in January and completion has been scheduled for December. The hotel was designed by M Architecture Inc. Consultants are Mirkwood Services (structural) and Prophase Engineering (mechanical/electrical); Subcontractors include: Quinn Construction (excavation); Albrecht Reinforcing Inc. (rebar supply); Desroches Concrete Floors; Linesteel Fabricators & Erectors (structural steel); St. Marys CBM (concrete supply); Super Air Conditioning & Heating (mechanical); Morgan Plumbing; K2 Electrical; Vipond Inc. (fire protection); Structures NR (timber frame); Andersen Windows/Dashwood (windows); CentiMark Ltd. (roofing); and Schindler Elevator Corp.
