Construction of power line begins

TORONTO

First Metals Inc. announced the start of construction of a power line to supply electricity to its two projects in northwestern Quebec.

The company has paid Quebec Hydro $2.4 million for construction of the 31-kilometre power line to project sites at the Fabie Bay copper deposit and Magusi River zinc, copper, gold and silver deposit near Rouyn-Noranda, Que.

The power line project involves the installation of about 560 power poles. Formal work on the project will start immediately with the completion expected by the end of January.
