Enbridge to build new pipelines in U.S.
CALGARY
Enbridge Inc., Enbridge Energy Partners, LP and Global Pipeline Partners LLC have struck a three-year agreement to provide construction services to build new pipelines in the U.S. Midwest.
The Calgary company said the agreement involves about 517 kilometres of the Wisconsin portion of the Enbridge Southern Access pipeline project and 121 kilometres of early winter construction for Enbridge’s Southern Lights project. The partners will also jointly collaborate on future projects.
The Enbridge-GPP alliance agreement will mean that hundreds of skilled workers, many of whom are local residents in Wisconsin and Illinois, will work over the next three years on these major expansions to the nation’s energy infrastructure, the company said.
