Toronto firm to redevelop Quinte Health Care Belleville
TORONTO
M. Sullivan & Son Limited has been selected to lead a team to build and finance phase one of the expansion and renovation of Quinte Health Care Belleville General. Construction is expected to begin in March.
The redevelopment project will modernize the hospital and increase its capacity to meet the needs of a growing and aging population.
The building team also includes financing provided by Stonebridge Financial Corporation.
Redevelopment of Quinte Health Care includes:
• construction of a new wing at the Belleville site;
• expansion of the complex continuing care and rehabilitation units;
• a small addition to expand the intensive care unit;
• redeveloping support services such as food services;
• new facilities for the Children’s Treatment Centre;
• an increase in overall hospital capacity of 77 beds.
In future phases, Quinte Health Care will renovate and redevelop the emergency department, hospital laboratory, surgical suites and medical and mental health units.
“Our staff and volunteers are delighted to see that construction is almost ready to begin,” said Lloyd Churchill, Chair, Board of Directors, Quinte Health Care.
“We are looking forward to moving ahead with the building team and getting construction underway.”
Quinte Health Care will remain publicly owned, controlled and accountable.
