SNC-Lavalin to oversee ethanol plant construction for GreenField

TORONTO

GreenField Ethanol has signed a contract with SNC-Lavalin Inc. to conduct the detailed engineering, procurement and construction management for its newest plant in Johnstown, Ont.

Under the contract, SNC-Lavalin will be responsible for detailed engineering, procurement and construction management at the Eastern Ontario plant, based on ICM technology. The plant is slated to open in 2008.

“The Johnstown plant will be among GreenField’s largest ethanol plants and the engineering and construction will be critical components,” said Bob Gallant, president and CEO of GreenField Ethanol.

GreenField’s Johnstown plant, already under construction, will be among the company’s largest ethanol facilities with a capacity of 200-million-litres per year.

GreenField and SNC-Lavalin undertook the same type of agreement for GreenField’s ethanol plant in Varennes, Que. The Varennes plant is scheduled to open in February.
