Heavy Construction Association (HCA) of Windsor ‘goes pink’ for Hospice of Windsor and Essex County charity
WINDSOR
The Heavy Construction Association (HCA) of Windsor is spearheading a “going pink” campaign to raise funds for the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
Jim Lyons, the association’s executive director, said a dump truck will be painted pink and companies given an opportunity to advertise their logos, at a cost of $500 per shot.
So far, 17 ads have been sold.
“We’re starting to fill the truck panels up,” said Lyons, who also heads the Windsor Construction Association. “If we can sell all the spots, we likely will be able to give the hospice a cheque for $38,000.”
Logos can be affixed to the driver’s side box, the passenger’s side box or the tailgate.
“We think this is a really worthwhile cause,” Lyons said in an interview. “Almost every one of us knows someone who has died of cancer.”
