Durham Region plans expansion of transit facility
Durham Region is seeking design consultants for a Durham Region Transit West Facility at 110 Westney Road in Ajax.
Issued June 17, 2008, the Request for Proposal will close July 24, 2008 at 2pm.
Durham Region held a mandatory site meeting at the site on June 24, 2008.
The region estimates the cost of the expansion to be more than $7 million, based on conceptual plans completed for the former Ajax-Pickering Transit Authority.
The region hopes to add a 26,000-square-foot addition to the facility, including six work bays with hoists, space for one portable hoist and block heater connections.
Durham Region will determine the design and construction schedules once the Request for Proposals is awarded in fall 2008.
