Northwest Connect wins contract for Anthony Henday Drive
Northwest Connect was recently award the contract to design, build, operate and partially finance the construction of the northwest leg of Anthony Henday Drive.
The Northwest Connect team is led by Bilfinger Berger Project Investments, Flatiron Constructors Canada Ltd., Parsons Overseas Company of Canada, Graham Infrastructure, a joint-venture, and Carmacks Maintenance Services.
The $1.42-billion project includes construction of:
• Approximately 21 kilometres of new four- and six-lane divided freeway;
• Additional basic and auxilliary lanes;
• One system interchange;
• Eight interchanges;
• Five flyovers;
• Two rail crossings; and
• Additional pre-grading for future interchanges
The project also includes a 30-year operating, maintenance and rehabilitation agreement.
Construction is set to commence in August 2008.
