Work continues on the renovation to the James Cooper Mansion on Sherbourne St. in Toronto. The heritage building was relocated to the front of the site to make room for the 32-storey James Cooper Mansion condominiums and it will be connected to the mansion by a glass podium. The refurbished mansion will be used for amenity space including a restaurant. Owner/general contractor is Tridel Corp. and the architect is Burka Architects Inc. Consultants are: Goldsmith Borgal & Co. (historical); Sigmund Soudack & Associates Inc. (structural); Trace Engineering Ltd. (mechanical); M.V. Shore Associates (1993) Ltd. (electrical). Subcontractors include: Progreen Demolition; Laurie McCullouch Movers Ltd.; Anpro Excavating & Grading Ltd.; Deep Foundations Contractors Inc.; Edvac Forming; Toro Aluminum (glass/glazing); and Clifford Masonry & Restoration.
