Worker hurt as truck hits Nova Scotia toll booth

TRURO, N.S.

RCMP are probing a crash in which a speeding truck slammed into a toll booth, injuring the worker inside.

Stuart Mills, in his 40s, suffered a broken hand and ribs and numerous cuts and bruises in the accident.

He was collecting tolls in his booth on the Cobequid Pass when he looked up to see a five-tonne truck speeding toward him.

Truck driver Walter Pennington of Georgia suffered minor injuries. Police said Pennington, in his 50s, was en route to Halifax with a load of carpet when his truck hit the booth on Highway 104.
