Stuart Olson awarded $144 million in Western Canada construction contracts

CALGARY

Stuart Olson Constructors has been awarded $144 million worth of new construction contracts in western Canada.

The company, a division of Churchill Corp, will replace social infrastructure in southern Alberta and British Columbia for several project owners over the next three years.

In one contract, Alberta Health Services chose Stuart Olson to expand the Red Deer Cancer Centre for $41 million. The project is scheduled to begin in December and wrap up in November 2011.

In a second separate contract for $66 million with the City of Calgary, Stuart Olson will build a community centre to house branches of the city’s public library and YMCA Calgary. Construction on the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness starts immediately and is expected to finish in 2011.

In a third contract, Stuart Olson will build a Roman Catholic Church in Port Coquitlam, B.C. for $6.5 million by Sept. 2010.
