Engineers union funds University of Manitoba scholarship

Professional engineers employed by the province of Manitoba on Monday will be presenting $20,000 to their union, the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), to create an annual scholarship for a first-year engineering student attending the University of Manitoba.

The first scholarship award of this kind will be presented to an engineering student today.

The Professional Institute celebrated its 90th anniversary on Feb. 6, 2010, and has awarded $227,500 in scholarships to dozens of deserving students since 2000.
