Finning to sell trucks to Chilean mining company Codelco

VANCOUVER

Heavy equipment dealer Finning International Inc. said its South American division has received a letter of intent outlining a US$400-million sale of mining trucks to Codelco, Chile’s state-owned mining company.

The deal would see Finning supply of 20 Caterpillar 797 mining trucks and 15 pieces of support equipment, alongside a 10-year maintenance and repair contract.

The deal is subject to final project approval by Codelco’s board, expected in mid 2010. Delivery would come in the first half of 2011.

Vancouver-based Finning is the world’s largest Caterpillar equipment dealer.
