Canadian Construction Association strengthening research and innovation efforts
The Canadian Constrruction Association has made progress in the past year in its efforts to nurture connections with educational and research institutions across the country, reports CCA chair Brad Greene.
“Our Research and Innovation Committee at the CCA has been focused for a number of years on trying to find a means whereby we could as an industry influence the way construction industry research is done in Canada,” Greene said in an interview with Reed Construction Data during the Ontario Road Builders’ Association convention in Toronto earlier this month.
“Could we actually make contacts with the key researchers, primarily at the educational institutions and research institutions around the country – how could we open the door to a dialogue with them?
“We’ve made some progress this year. Between staff and our industry we now have the opportunity to talk on a regular basis.”
“We are concerned about productivity,” Greene added, “and research and innovation and proper influence there in that community is important to us."
Carpenters’ union official Ucal Powell named to Order of Ontario
