Report unsafe work sites, Building and Concrete Restoration Association of Ontario says
TORONTO
The Building and Concrete Restoration Association of Ontario (BCRAO) Safety Task Force continues to encourage anyone who sees any health and safety violations at a work site to call the Ministry of Labour.
The BCRAO Safety Task Force was formed after the 2009 Christmas Eve swing-stage tragedy that claimed four lives at a Kipling Avenue apartment renovation site.
It is currently arranging meetings with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association, Ministry of Labour and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board in an effort to improve health and safety practices at renovation sites.
The IHSA, which counts the former Construction Safety Association of Ontario as one of its founding members through an amalgamation, recently held a Safe Use of Suspended Access Equipment meeting geared towards management and owners of firms using swing-stages or contracting their use.
Safety task force members were among industry representatives at the Feb. 23 meeting.
