Ontario General Contractors Association unveils environmental management guide

The Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) is publishing a 15-page guide to environmental management programs.

Drafted by a five-person task force, the document is intended to provide a blueprint for member firms to develop their own in-house policies.

OGCA president Clive Thurston said buyers of construction increasingly are requiring that contractors have such policies in place.

“We’re all striving to be good corporate citizens when it comes to being green,” he said.

The guide provides suggestions on potential content in firms’ environmental management programs.
