Feds to fund improvements at Huron County Gaol National Historic Site

The federal government said Wednesday will fund infrastructure improvements at Huron County Gaol National Historic Site of Canada.

Through Parks Canada’s Cost-Sharing Program, the government will be contributing up to $313,188 for masonry repairs, boiler replacement, roof replacement, window upgrades and fire alarm installation at the Huron County Gaol.

Parks Canada‘s Cost-Sharing Program has a budget of $20 million.

The program “provides opportunities for skilled construction and conservation professionals to work on national historic sites across the country,” the government said in a news release.
