Montreal awards sewer rehabilitation construction contract to Instituform

Insituform Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: INSU) announced Tuesday it was awarded a US$12.2 million sewer rehabilitation contract with the City of Montreal.

St. Louis-based Insituform said it expects to rehabilitate more than 14 kilometres of wastewater pipelines ranging from 25 centimetres to more than a metre in diameter.

The firm said a significant portion of the project includes the rehabilitation of egg-shaped pipelines. Insituform uses its cured-in-place pipe, or CIPP, to rehabilitate sanitary and storm sewers, as well as force mains. CIPP is designed as a pipe within a pipe that can contain flow while keeping tree roots and external water out.
