Manitoba contributes to Brandon Sportsplex pool renovations

The City of Brandon, Manitoba announced Thursday the province will invest $500,000 in renovations to the pool used for the 1997 Canada Summer Games.

The work to the Canada Games Sportsplex Pool will include $1 million in mechanical and safety upgrades. The province's contribution comes from a $10-million extension of the Municipal Recreation Fund announced in the recent budget.

Premier Greg Selinger said the Brandon Sportsplex has the only 50-metre swimming pool in the province outside of Winnipeg.
