Alter NRG wins geoexchange contract at Calgary International Airport

Alter NRG Corp. (TSX: NRG) announced it has been awarded a contract to provide a geoxchange heating and cooling system for Calgary International Airport.

Calgary-based Alter NRG said the system, worth about $4.5 million, is expected to reduce the airport’s carbon footprint by 4,900 tonnes per year. Geoexchange provides heating and cooling by circulating fluid through a series of pipes into the ground below the frost line and back into the building

Other Alter NRG contracts include:

•A $2.05 million geoexchange system for the Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre in Trurop;

• A $1.5 million geoexchange project for the mental health centre in Penetanguishene, Ontario; and

• A geoexchange system for a seniors' residence in London, Ontario.
