Repairs announced for Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

The Newfoundland and Labrador department of Health and Community Services announced Friday that the province will provide $1.4 million in capital funding to the Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, to include renovations and repairs.

About $650,000 of the funding will go towards construction, to include window replacements, repairs to the exterior of the facility and renovations to the housing units used by visiting health care professionals. The rest of the funding is intended for equipment including a dialysis water treatment system, lab sterilizer, centrifuge and iodized triage unit.

The 2011 provincial budget includes $200.6 million in funding for new and continuing construction projects and $21.6 million for repairs and renovations.
