Electrical Safety Authority to present safety awards in Ontario

The Electrical Safety Authority announced it will present the Ontario Electrical Safety Awards in Mississauga Thursday.

Four utilities will receive awards for powerline safety. They are: Cambridge & North Dumfries Hydro; Guelph Hydro; Kitchener Hydro and Waterloo North Hydro. Entertainment Electrical Safety Committee of Ontario will get an award for worker safety. Whirlpool Corp. will get an award for product safety. Mike Holmes is scheduled to be recognized for consumer and home safety.

The awards will be presented at the Living Arts Centre Thursday, September 22 at 4141 Living Arts Drive in Mississauga, near the Square One shopping centre southwest of Highway 403 and Hurontario Street (formerly known as Highway 10).

The Electrical Safety Authority’s mandate includes administering regulations related to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, licensing of Electrical Contractors and Master Electricians, the safety of the power distribution system and electrical product safety.
