Nova Scotia climate change fund to provide $15,000 for Halifax stormwater management

The Nova Scotia environment ministry announced this week a stormwater management project for Halifax will get $15,000 in funding from the Climate Change Adaptation Fund.

The announcement was made in a press release announcing climate change adaptation funding for a total of three projects.

That province stated that in partnership with Halifax Regional Municipality and Halifax Water, the Ecology Action Centre will conduct a stormwater management project to help planners, developers and municipal officials deal with urban flooding caused by climate change.

Another $10,200 from the same fund is slated for a project by the Municipality of the District of Chester and Dalhousie University's marine affairs program to identify coastal adaptation options for the Chester district Climate Change Action Plan.

The third project, which will get $11,064, is for Dalhousie University researchers, the Department of Education and public schools to design education and outreach programs.
