Aecon Group Inc. (TSX:ARE) of Toronto announced this week it has been awarded a contract by Saskatoon-based fertilizer producer Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (TSX:POT) for work at a site in Penobsquis, New Brunswick.

At Potash’s Picadilly site, Aecon will install mechanical equipment, process and utility piping systems. The contract, scheduled for completion at the end of 2012, also includes electrical and control systems.

Aecon announced it has also been awarded a contract by Thompson Creek Metals Company for work at a molybdenum mine in British Columbia. The scope of work includes the installation of structural steel, equipment, piping, electrical and control systems at Thomson Creek’s Endako mine west of Fraser Lake.

Both contracts are with Aecon’s Lockerbie and Hole Eastern division. Aecon expects both to bring in a combined total of about $250 million in revenue.
