Cambridge, Ontario announces watermain rehabilitation strategy
The City of Cambridge, Ontario is working on a long-term strategy for its water distribution system and using cured-in-place pipe liners for watermain rehabilitation.
The thin-walled cast iron watermain rehabilitation project will be undertaken over the next three years at an estimated cost of $7 million, the city stated in a press release Wednesday.
AMEC Environment and Infrastructure has been contracted to develop the overall strategic plan to address the needs of the existing thin-walled cast iron watermains.
The rehabilitation project, which is expected to be completed by December, began as a pilot program in October on Guelph Avenue.
The development of the strategic plan is expected to be completed by the summer of 2012.
