ARXX gets CleanTech North award for insulating concrete form technology

ARXX Corp. of Cobourg, Ontario announced last week it has received an award from CleanTech North for its insulating concrete form (ICF) technology.

The company said it received the award at the CleanTech North Annual Summit from Brad Duguid, the new Ontario minister of economic development and innoviation.

The Third Annual Cleantech Summit was held November 16 at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, located across from Queen’s Park on the south side of College Street.

Structures built with ICFs use 44 per cent less energy to heat and 32 per cent less energy to cool, on average, compared to conventional wood frame structures,” CleanTech North states on its website. “In addition, ICFs are structurally tough with superior fire resistance and sound suppression compared to conventional construction materials and methods.”
