ThyssenKrupp buys Sterling Elevator of Edmonton
ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas Corp. announced Monday it has acquired the business operations of Edmonton-based Sterling Elevator Services Corp.
It is the third acquisition in the last three months completed by ThyssenKrupp in North America.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based ThyssenKrupp Elevator, a subsidiary of Essen, Germany-based ThyssenKrupp AG, has 14,000 employees and more than 200 branch locations. The entire firm, including the elevator, steel, engine components and shipbuilding, has 180,000 employees and 42 billion Euros in annual revenues.
“The acquisition of Sterling Elevator Services further strengthens our position in North America,” ThyssenKrupp Elevator chairman Olaf Berlien stated in a press release. “The solid presence of Sterling Elevator in the Canadian market is a true asset for our growth strategy in the region.”
Founded in 1992, Sterling Elevator Services provides installation, maintenance, repair and modernization in Alberta. ThyssenKrupp Elevator also acquired Florida-based General Elevator Sale and Service Inc. in September, 2011, and Philadelphia-based United Elevator Company in October 2011.
