Zephyr Sleep Technologies head Paul Cataford lands Defence Construction Canada board appointment
Paul Cataford, president and chief executive officer of Calgary-based Zephyr Sleep Technologies Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of Defence Construction Canada, which provides construction management for the Canadian military.
The appointment was announced Thursday by federal Public Works and Government Services Minister Rona Ambrose.
Founded in 1951, DCC is the contracting authority responsible for Department of National Defence (DND) infrastructure projects. Employing more than 800 professionals, including engineers, technologists and trades people, DCC reports through the Minister of Public Works to Parliament.
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)’s functions include the management of federal government real estate and providing assistance to government departments in procurement and contracting. "Mr. Cataford's extensive experience in investing, technology, governance, and business development will be a tremendous asset to the organization,” Ambrose stated in a PWGSC press release.
According to PWGSC, Cataford has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston, Ontario-based Queen's University and a Master of Business Administration from the York University Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
According to Cataford's LinkeIn profile, he was president and CEO at University Technologies International Inc.
He has been a managing director at a number of financial services firms, including HorizonOne Asset Management, BMO Nesbitt Burns Equity Partners and BCE Capital Inc.
