Ottawa working on environmental assessment of proposed Shelburne, Ontario well

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency announced Thursday it is inviting public comments on an environmental study on a proposal to construct a well and watermain in Shelburne, Ontario, about 100 kilometres northwest of Toronto.

The Town of Shelburne is proposing a new water supply production well about three kilometers west of the town, along with a watermain along existing rights of way.

The watermain would follow Second Line southeast to Ontario Highway 89, and then continue eastwards along Highway 89 to the town’s existing water supply system.

CEAA is conducting a comprehensive study environmental assessment and is inviting public comment on the project, the conduct of the study and on an environmental impact statement.
