Niagara Region issues RFI seeking land for provincial courts

The Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario is looking for properties for courtrooms, administrative space and parking.

Niagara Region, which is the upper tier of municipal government for Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and 10 other cities and towns in the area, announced Monday it issued a request for information (RFI) seeking properties that may be suitable for Provincial Offences Act facilities, including four courtrooms, associated administrative space and parking. It is looking for properties with or without existing buildings that it may lease or purchase for the court facilities.

It has also directed staff to develop a list of sites that could house a two-courtroom facility, giving it the option of having two sites.

The submission deadline is Jan. 27 and the regional government is not obliged to pursue the purchase or lease of any properties offered for consideration as part of the request for information.
