Newfoundland announces construction projects at Labrador City schools

The Newfoundland and Labrador department of education announced Monday it will proceed with construction projects at two schools in Labrador City.

A roofing contract for Menihek High School is valued at $440,248. The province said a total of $1.7 million in upgrades have been undertaken at the school since 2004.

A second roofing contract, for $249,278, was announced for Centre educatif L’ENVOL, a French first-language school.

The provincial budget for 2011 includes $34.3 million for maintenance and repair of elementary and high schools.
