EllisDon works on exterior of Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute in Toronto

Work is moving along on the exterior of the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute in Toronto, Ont.
EllisDon Corp. is general contractor of the 21-storey facility that is designed to meet LEED Gold certification. The building will be equipped with research labs, education and conference space, retail space and three levels of underground parking. The architects for the project are Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc. and HDR Architecture.
Consultants are: Halcrow Yolles (structural); H.H. Angus and Associates Ltd. (mechanical/electrical); and du Toit Allsopp Hillier (landscape). Subtrades include: York Excavating and Grading Co. Ltd.; Deep Foundations Contractors Inc.; Mometal Structures Inc. (structural steel); C & T Reinforcing Steel Co. (1987) Ltd.; Avenue Building Corp.; Limen Masonry; North Wood Carpet & Tile; The Belluz Group (tile); Select Drywall & Acoustics; Comstock Canada (mechanical); Blandford (spray insulation); Ontario Electrical Construction Co.; Paul & Douglas Sprinklers (fire protection); Fisher Hamilton (lab casework); City Wide Door and Hardware; Rainbow Waterproofing; Triumph Aluminum & Sheet Metal (roofing); Gage Metal Cladding; Sota Glazing and Otis Canada Inc. (elevators).
