Harley Davidson to roar into Quebec, with $15-million franchise headquarters under construction

A 23,000-square-metre structure will house the new Premont Harley Davidson franchise headquarters on Pierre-Bertrand Boulevard in Quebec City.

‘’If the schedule is respected, we will open in late spring of 2012’’, says owner Laurent Prémont.

The near $15 million investment will house a six-storey tower museum, located on the façade of the building of the 32,000-square-metre site.

‘’The tower will be illuminated and offer a distinctive view from the highway’’, continues Mr. Premont.

‘’The main idea behind the concept that I’ve elaborated with DMG Architects is one of liberty. I’ve seen the Harley shops in British Columbia and they all look the same. This one will definitely have a unique and personalized design.’’

The rest of the design team includes Axys Consultants for structural/civil engineering and Genecor Experts-Conseils for mechanical/electrical engineering. Les constructions Y. Gagnon & fils inc. are the acting project managers.

Future customers will be greeted with a three-level showroom including a panoramic elevator in the middle section of a 7,500-square-metre Harley Davidson merchandise area.

‘’There’s also going to be restaurant, but I haven’t yet decided on what type of cuisine,’’ confirms Mr. Prémont.

‘’It’ll be the biggest and most unique Harley Davidson headquarters in Eastern Canada.’’

Also among the distinctive features of the new headquarters is a drive-thru information service, a 22-table motorcycle workshop and a storage area for 450 motorcycles.
