St. John’s Newfoundland budget includes $4.3 million on street rehabilitation

The City of St. John’s, Newfoundland announced Tuesday it will spend more than $21 million in its capital budget in 2012.

Capital projects include upgrading Main Road in Goulds, south of the city, for $3.2 million in 2012 and $1.4 million for sanitary sewer diversion on Pine Bud Place.

The Newfoundland and Labrador capital also plans to spend $4.3 million in 2012 on street rehabilitation and $500,000 on sidewalk replacement.

The capital budget was approved by City Council Jan. 31.
