$196 million in construction work for Churchill Corp.
CALGARY
The Churchill Corporation, a big construction company with a focus on Western Canada, has won about $196 million of new contracts in the last quarter of 2011 and in January.
The Calgary company said Thursday the its services group and the industrial division of Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd. had won the new work on oilsands projects in Alberta, a potash mine in Saskatchewan and a mine in Ontario.
The Churchill companies involved are Laird Electric and Fuller Austin.
“We are pleased to see our industrial operating companies building high quality backlog as resource extraction activity in our service area continues at a healthy pace,” said Jim Houck, Churchill’s CEO.
“Laird Electric and Fuller Austin are preferred suppliers for several large oilsands and oil refining operations, and this helps to keep their workload growing in step with the industrial spend in Western Canada.”
