Canadian Association of Women in Construction launches mentorship, career programs

The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) has launched its self-service career and mentorship programs.

The CAWIC career centre lets members post their resumes and respond to job postings in the construction sector. All postings are available for public viewing and non-members may post positions for a fee.

CAWIC says its mentorship program, which facilitates connections with peer members, is for people interested in the construction industry and those already working in the industry and wanting to advance.

In a press release Friday, CAWIC had seven announcements. In addition to the career and mentorship programs, CAWIC members get preferred rates from the Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East and Moxie Trades is promoting CAWIC on a winter work boot.

The organization also announced it has a full-time administrator, it has a social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn and it raised $23,000 for Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build.
