Note: REQUEST FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION OF SUB TRADES closing January 29, 2010 at 14:00 at the Construction Manager for all Sub trades Attn: John Martin. DOCUMENTS are available at the Construction Manager's planroom. A deposit for drawings will be needed to guarantee the return of the documents. The work to be performed has been summarized into five stages: Fist Stage involves certain early enabling works as well as the commencement of the dig down, the GO and VIA concourses, the teamways, and renovation and restoration work on the Head House; Second Stage involves the continuation of the dig down work, the construction of the GO and VIA concourses, and the North/West moat; Third Stage involves construction of the Bay St Promenade and work on the west half of the Front St East moat; Fourth Stage involves the continuation of the work on the Bay St Promenade and work on the East half of the Front St East moat; Fifth Stage involves work on the Bay St moat. Only the Sub trades that qualify will be Invited to tender. Sub trades must submit three copies of the required documents. Sub trades must submit the following: detailed Lump Sum price that identifies the following: quantities, means, methods and schedule durations to complete the scope of work needed to meet the overall expectation of the design intent; completed CCDC Document 11; most recent form of CAD-7 Calculations issued by WSIB and a current WSIB Clearance Certificate; the name and resume of the designated supervisor who has at least five years experience constructing similar projects; Certificate of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $5 million; copy of Quality Assurance/Quality Control policy and program; reference letters from three previous Clients/Architects/Contractors indicating your performance on past projects; detailed description of the company's Health and Safety Policy and Program; letter from a nationally recognized Surety Company stating availability of bonding and the company's total bonding limit; and a letter stating which scope of work company intends to bid. Further update expected Spring 2010.
Project:proposed redevelopment of the existing station to improve pedestrian traffic and increase commercial and concourse areas as part of the Revitalization of Union station. The project will include construction of a 134,500 square foot new retail concourse beneath the existing Bay, VIA and York Street concourses, and a new 126,000 square foot upper level transportation concourse area, an 11,700 square meter (126,000 square feet) exclusive use GO concourse area; Excavation and construction of a separate level dedicated to retail that could focus on offering the "Best of Toronto" - locally-made items or Toronto-related services. Improvement of connections to the TTC, PATH system and street networks Also included will be development of direct connection with no grade change from the TTC fare collection level through the Moat and into the Station leading to stairs, escalators and elevators to the GO and VIA concourse level.
