| Note: | A draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Report has been completed by Delcan Corp and Parsons Brinckerhoff Canada Inc and is currently available to the public. Preliminary Design is underway at the Civil Engineers. Procurement and project delivery model to be used to design, construct, commission, maintain and operate the new light rail system has not been determined yet. Recommendations on the procurement model will be provided to City Council late Functional Design has been approved. A draft Environmental Assessment (EA)010. Once the procurement model has been determined, and the Preliminary Engineering completed, the Owner will launch a Request For Qualification (RFQ) process to determine which companies are interested in bidding and qualified to complete all of the work required. This will be completed in 2011. Owner anticipates invited Tender for General Contractors in 2013. Construction will commence immediately after award. and will take approximately 5 years. Full service on the LRT system is expected by 2019.
